Medication arrives at the receiving dock and is logged in the Pharmacy: every unit located and traceable from the moment it arrives.
It is packaged in unit doses, labeled and ready to go out to the inpatient units.
The Pharmacy restocks the dispensing cabinets on each unit. Medication is ready to be administered anywhere in the hospital.
Because everything is connected, the nurse checks the patient's prescription, removes what is ordered from the cabinet and administers it at the bedside.
